Junior Leagues Tuesday Mornings - Heritage Links

Dear Parents and Junior Golfers, It’s that time of the year and we are getting excited for our 2012 Junior league. Here is what we have in store for juniors at Heritage Links during the 2012 season. We will be accepting the first 56 juniors interested in an eighteen hole Tuesday morning league and the first 56 juniors interested in a nine hole Tuesday morning league. Both leagues will begin at 10:00am. This year, we will be assigning tee times between 10am and 1pm, instead of a shotgun start. We have also added instruction for all league members on League mornings starting at 9:30am to 1:00 pm at no additional charge.

The league will begin on June 12th and end on August 7th (no league on July 3rd). Heritage Links will have staff on the course to keep play moving, as well as give simple instruction with in the course of play. This helps juniors understand pace of play and help with course management and make the game more enjoyable for all. The following is the vision of the Heritage Links staff for the Tuesday morning leagues. We will begin tee times off both the front and back for the junior leagues. We will have tees comfortable for all levels of junior play. The nine hole league is targeted at the 13 and under age group. The eighteen hole leagues are targeted at the high school varsity and junior varsity levels. The staff understands that individuals play the game of golf for different reasons. Some play for the fun of the game and others play for the competitive aspect of the game. We will recognize and respect each junior’s level of play.

The following are the leagues that will be forming:

The Walter Hagen flight, a 9 hole league, will be for the beginner. They will play from tees at or near the 150 markers. Cost will be $200.00 will include league, polo shirt and weekly instruction.

The Bobby Jones flight, a 9 hole league, will be for the more advanced beginner. They will play from a mixture of blue and white tees. Scores will be recorded each week. The individual will learn course management through the scorecard. Cost will be $200.00 will include league, polo shirt and weekly instruction.

The Jack Nicklaus flight will be for juniors interested in playing an eighteen hole non-competitive league. This league designed for the intermediate junior. Cost for this league is $250.00 will include league, polo shirt and weekly instruction.

The Arnold Palmer flight is for juniors interested in developing their competitive skills and taking thier game to the next level. This flight will also receive one day a week of group instruction. Last year we incorporated this on Tuesday's after the round. We will again practice short game drills, course management and now we will also take on the 10 toughest shots in golf. We have the following options for the Arnold Palmer flight.

1.)     $340 will include league, polo shirt and weekly instruction. This individual will not travel.

2.)     $440 will include league, polo shirt and weekly instruction and the opportunity to participate on the MGA junior team and other traveling opportunities. The individual will also have playing privileges Monday through Friday.

3.)     $520 will include league, polo shirt and weekly instruction and the opportunity to participate on the MGA junior team and other traveling opportunities. The individual will also have playing privileges anytime Monday through Friday and after 2PM on Saturday and Sunday
